At completion, ask for startup documentation and a demonstration of heating, cooling, fan, and scheduling settings. Learn which maintenance tasks you can perform and which require service. Keep model numbers, warranty terms, and registration information together. If a rebate is part of the project, save the exact equipment and installation documents required by the program. Treat eligibility as something to verify, not an automatic discount promised by a generic equipment description.
